Falstone Fish

Kielder Hatchery were collecting fish from the Tyne at Falstone on 3rd November 2016 for this years breeding programme and they were very kind to let me come along to watch. It gave me an ideal opportunity to see and photograph fish.

The Hatchery use sedative to aid them in sampling fish which minimises the stress the fish will feel due to handling and to reduce the chance of injury to the fish and to those handling them. This meant that I could see the fish recovering underwater quite easily. It was brilliant to see the fish, and I watched them until they woke fully and swam off.
